Cataract Surgery
Through medical out-reach camps 118 remote villages were covered and 2,701 patients were provided with free medical care in the form of screening tests & medicines. Patients with cataracts, a cause of blindness, are detected and brought to Shalom Medical Centre, Gotlam for surgery. All the patients receive food during their 2 day stay in the hospital and are taken back to their respective villages after surgery.
In 2018, the gift of vision was restored to 749 patients through free eye surgeries at Shalom Medical Centre. This incredible gift not only gives the patients vision but also restores their dignity as they can be independent again for their basic daily needs.
